National Names, National Adjectives, Demonyms

Peoplese being an international language, the name of each nation is generally the name used by the people who live in that nation.  For example, English "German" is Peoplese "Deutschland".  For a list and explanation of nations' original names, click here.

The adjective of a nation simply adds hyphnette "y" to the nation's Peoplese name.  E.g. Deutschland۔y.

A demonym is the name of a person or of the people who live in a certain place.  In Peoplese, if the name of the nation or region ends in a vowel, we simply add "n".  E.g. Albanian, Botswanan, Europen.  If the name of the nation or region ends in a consonant, we simply add "an".  E.g. Brasilan, Deutschlandan, Jordanan, Pakistanan.

Besides saving an enormous amount of memorization (compared to English), ambiguity is eliminated.  For example, in English "French" can refer to citizens of France, to an adjective of France (French cheese), or the language of France.  In Peoplese:  Francen citizens, France۔y cheese, France۔ese language.  Only names of nations need be memorized.  

The one exception is China.  Citizens of China name their nation 中国 , romanized as Zhong-guo, which could be acceptable as "Zhonguo".  But demonym ”Zhonguon“ and adjective "Zhonguo۔y do not translate well in Chinese language.  Moreover, the national name "China", sometimes with slight variations, is known planet-around; e.g. Spanish, among other languages, also use the national name "China", as does Peoplese.
