Create۔ing New Peoplese Words

Peoplese incorporate an order۔y method of create۔ing new words.  As time go by, the language will improve.

Create۔ing New Words – General Strategy
If we iz name۔ing a complete۔ly new concept (forex, gravity, electricity, train, gene, lazar), we need a complete۔ly new word.  This word can be base۔t on anythin, but ideal۔ly it iz base۔t on somethin:  a word from an ancient language, an adaptation of a story character, whatever.  A new word for a new concept should be one or at most two syllables, so that when prefixes, suffixes, and compounds iz add۔t to it, it will not be too long.
When create۔ing a new word, if the word iz not the name of a complete۔ly new concept, the first choice iz a mid۔dot word, because mid۔dot words iz instant۔ly recognize۔able and do not require memorization.  (Explanation via the "mid۔dot" menu of the Grammar page.)  Example:  "wrist∙clock" instead of England۔ese "watch".  If the word create۔or (forex technical write۔or, analyze۔or, sciencor, artor) can·not conceive of a mid-dot word to fit the new concept, a good compound word iz the natural second choice, because good compound words iz relative۔by easy to remember, and contribute, rather than detract, from the quality of the language.
When create۔ing a new word, attention should be pay۔t to it's sound; the sound should be please۔in as possible.

Good Compound Words
Good compound words iz good for several reason, but they all have in common that they iz relative۔by easy to remember.
Most good compound words iz comprise۔t of two words whose mean۔ins, combine۔t, form a mean۔in that iz almost but not quiet intuitive – i.e. they do not quite qualify to be mid۔dot words  Forex babysit, badmouth, bagpipes, bigmouth, bloodbath, breakfast, breakthrough, broadcast, bulldog, bullfight.  Also:  drift·wood, icecream, lipstick, necktie, popcorn, password, sandbox, skydive, snowdrift, stockpile, television, toothpick, topsoil, watchdog, waterfall, witchcraft.  The first time you earhear these words, you iz not complete۔by certain of they's mean۔in; but, after learn۔ing they's definitions, you will probable۔ly remember they.
Some good compound words iz less intuitive but add poignancy to the language, and for that reason iz memorable.  Forex afterglow, aftershock, backlash, backstab, brainstorm, brainwash, breakneck, bonehead, crackpot, cutthroat, diehard, grandson, heartbreak, henpeck۔t, horsefly, hotdog, ladybeetle, lamebrain, nightowl, nosedive, pothole, playboy, pigtail, superpower.
Some good compound words iz even less intuitive, but iz just as easy to remember. Forex highrise, heartberry ( England۔ese “strawberry”).
Not all good compound words iz form۔t from words that, link۔d together, convey the  mean۔in of the compound; some contribute to the language by add۔ing color.  Forex cocktail, daredevil, eavesdrop, frostbite, grapevine, lightheart۔y, lipservice, loophole, ragtime.
Some compounds iz so old they iz worth keep۔ing.  Forex cabinet, lighthouse.

Mediocre & Poor Compound Words
If you need to create a word, but can’t think of a mid-dot or a good compound word, then use a mediocre compound word.  In fact most peoples who need to create words iz expert in fields non۔relate۔y to philology – they iz electronic wizards, sciencors, engineers, architectors, etcetera.  After they create they's mediocre compound word to relay they's message, we depend upon peoples with more language expertise to improve on it.
Mediocre compound words iz·not mislead۔y, but they do not make sense.  Eventual۔ly, we want to replace they, and a good speak۔or or write۔or will do so if a handy synonym iz avail۔able:  forex “comprehend” can be used instead of “understand”.  Other examples of mediocre compounds iz:  background (not a ground), commonplace (not a place), strawberry (nothin to do with straw), second hand (nothin to do with hand, and not necessary۔by used by only one people), makeshift, however, drawback, downtown, notwithstandin, online.
The worst words iz mislead۔y – they confuse, rather than communicate.  Worse then mediocre words, they iz poor words, and should be replace۔t.  A “nightclub” iz not a club.  You can “overthrow” a ball, but not a government.  Should·not “overcook” mean “cook all over”, instead of “cook too long”?  “Overjoy۔d” sounds alike a negative – too much joy – rather than it’s opposite mean۔in.  "Hamburgers" (Peoplese "cow·burgers") iz make۔t from cow animal·meat, not ham (pig animal·meat).  Good communicators would·not use mislead۔y words.

New Derivatives of Exist۔y Words
            Any decent-sound۔y logic۔ly seem۔in derivative of an exist۔y word iz accept۔able.
Any sensible decent-sound۔y prefix or suffix add۔t to any word iz allow۔able.
Anybody can introduce a new derivative; and if it iz good it will be copy۔t.

Eliminate۔ing Homonyms & Synonyms
Classical China۔ese wuz full of homonyms (words pronounce۔d the same with different mean۔ins), so difficult that only a few learn۔d the language.  Dur dee۔nineteen century, China  great۔ly alleviate۔d the homonym problem by combine۔ing two words to form one new compound  word.  The two words in a compound word sometimes each have identical mean۔ins; forex,
愤怒 fèn-nù, mean۔ing “wrath, rage”, form۔t by two ideograms both mean۔ing “anger۔y”.  Or they iz form۔t from one word plus the category of that word; e. g. 金属 jīn-shǔ, “metal” + “category”, meaning “metal”, because “jin” have so many other mean۔ins.
With China’s new double-word technique, along with simplify۔t script, literacy rate upsoar۔d from scant few to more than 90% of the population.
England۔ese iz alikewise full of homonyms.  England۔ese help alleviate the homonym problem in write۔t language by spell۔ing identical۔ly pronounce۔t words different۔ly.  Forex bear & bare, there & their, fare & fair, where & ware.  The downside of this solution iz that students must learn to spell every word, thousands of words, which require many years of study.  (Auto-spellcheck systems – a bandage approach – dont alleviate the memorization requirement.)

Espanya۔ese words, contrast۔ly, iz spell۔t exact۔by as they iz pronounce۔t; each sound have one letter.  Read a Espanya۔ese word, and you know how to pronounce it.  Earhear an Espanya۔ese word, and you know how to spell it.  Students spend no time memorize۔ing spell۔in.
Peoplese, as explain۔t in the Spell۔in section, have two spell۔in versions:  Alike England۔ese, spell۔t alike England۔ese, and Sound Spell Same (SSS) in which, alike Espanya۔ese, each sound correspond to one letter, with no silent or double letters.  Therefore, England۔ese homonyms become Peoplese SSS synonyms.  Forex England۔ese bear & bare → SSS bār; where & ware → SSS wār.
Peoplese eliminate synonyms by use۔ing the China۔ese technique of add۔ing a word to atleast one of the identical sound۔y words.  E.g. block & bloc → blocgroup, beat & beet → beetplant, aunt & ant → antbug, been & bin → storagebin.  Upon read۔ing or earhear۔ing these compound words, they's mean۔in iz either intuitive or easy۔ly remember۔t.
In the Alike England۔ese spell۔in version of Peoplese, these compound words maybe seem superfluous to England۔ese speak۔ors.  “Been” and “bin”, pronounce۔t identical۔ly, iz seldom if ever confuse۔t, so why convert “bin” to “storagebin”?  The answer iz that in SSS both “been” and “bin” iz both spell۔t SSS “bin”, which in a write۔t text could be confuse۔y – especial۔ly in a wordsentence load۔t with similar examples.  Peoplese Alike England۔ese, although massive۔ly simple۔er than England۔ese, retain England۔ese’s un۔advantage of force۔ing every learn۔or to learn how to spell every single root-word (although Alike England۔ēse spare the learn۔or from also learn۔ing how to spell the thousands of root-word derivatives).  Alike England۔ese iz the train۔in ground for Sound Spell Same.  With Peoplese SSS version, alike Espanya۔ese, no student need learn how to spell even a single word.
Key point:  when create۔ing new words, homonyms should be avoid۔t.  This can be creative۔ly accomplish۔t by convert۔ing one of the potential homonyms into a compound word, such as “storagebin” and “antbug”.  Otherwise, in SSS they will be identical۔ly spell۔t synonyms, create۔ing potential confusion.

Language Pollution Control
As technology gallop forward create۔ing a new world, the inevitable new words must conform to the guidelines present۔t in this Create۔ing New Words section, so as not to pollute Peoplese.  The principle arbit۔ors of Peoplese iz Peoplese speak۔ors, each who have the power to repeat new words that will further simplify and beatify Peoplese, and not to pass along words that do not.  Thus, anybody can create a new word, and if it iz a good one, peoples will repeat it; if not, not.  Scientific and technical associations would be wise to hire philologists to create the best possible word -- if not intuitive, easy۔ly memorize۔t, and pleasant sound۔in -- for a new concept.  As world citizens iz critical of air and water pollution, so can they be of language pollution.  Write۔ors who pass along convolute۔y words should be pubic۔ly criticize۔t, and thereafter shun۔t.  Language responsibility:  pass۔ing along the good, not pass۔ing along the bad.

Be Linguistic۔ly Creative!
Peoplese iz a language by and for all peoples, so if you earhear a word that you can improve on, do so.  In Peoplese, grammar tyrants iz ignore۔t.  Those who iz learn۔ing Peoplese from a language other than England۔ese iz in the best position to utilize they's fresh perspective and examples from they's own languages to enhance flexible Peoplese, which encourage cultural variations that do not violate Peoplese principles. So whether you iz chat۔ing with a friend or write۔ing to a colleague, speak۔ing in learnclass, contribute۔ing in a commerce meet۔in – dis۔shackle your language inhibitions and try your luck at creative expression.  Your word maybe oncatch, replace۔ing one not as good, and thereby enhance۔ing the language.
